Here are a list of the common daily issues we see on the helpdesk and how to avoid the problem before it occurs

Authenticators

We have two main products in use Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator.​ For ease of use and portability between devices the Google Authenticator app wins hands down.

The number one issue with the authenticator apps is you need to migrate to a new device and the app may need to be manually moved between phones, so when you get your new device and before you get rid of the old device you need to complete a migration to the new handset.

 

This is a simple task after you have setup your new phone and make sure the old phone is on and connected to Wi-Fi, then check your sign in information on the new device and ensure it matches the old device.

If you screw up, you will need to email a request to your IT guy and have him reset your account so you can register your device again.

For Google Auth users please make sure you are logged in with a free @gmail.com address (not your work email) so that you can retain control of your authenticator even if you change jobs.
